I think it was good, but a little too sweet for a second plate. I wish it had more of a fluffy cake-like consistency to it instead of mush-like.

Loved it, so good..yummy! My momma made one, a year or so ago..now it's my turn to make it. i am taking it to our family reunion tomorrow after church services!! I know all the women will want this recipe, which i will gladly give them...giving you all the credit though. i don't think i have been to a reunion..in the last 10 years, that didn't have (1) of your recipes there on the table somewhere!!I also am bringing your "Mexican chicken Casserole", it's big hit on our table, it's one of my favorites of all time. The combination of flavors, with the cheeses and chicken..I want some now darn it!!I better get on down to the "Pig' before it closes, get the things I need for these dishes.I am very proud to tell others that I have used your recipes, everyone knows you are a great cook. you have given me lots of tips on cooking and I am very thankful to you for that..and the recipes of course!! Continue on with much success!

Making this again for Sunday dessert. This is super easy and wonderfully delicious! I use Raspberry Pie Filling instead of Blueberry..I think the Raspberry compliments the pineapple beautifully. I also substituted Walnuts for the Pecans. Love the crunch the nuts add to this yummy concoction. This is a winner! Thanks Paula! smile

This is a great recipe. I have been making this type of cake for years, especially when we go camping or up north fishing. It is simple, easy, and really good, either with whipped cream, cool whip, or my favorite Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. My family calls it Dump Cake because you just dump everything into one pan and bake. If camping we use a Cast Iron Dutch Oven and place the pot on the hot coals of a camp fire. Learned it from the Boy Scouts about 40 years ago. Used this recipe for summer camp for the Campfire Girls too. We use what ever pie filling we like and the crushed pineapple topping. If you use cherry pie filling it is really good with chocolate cake mix and walnuts or pecans. Love to the Deen Family.

Paula I watch your show often. My mother-in-law wrote down this recipe for your crunch cake and left out the size of cans to use. I searched to find it and was successful. Will be back to comment after I make it tomorrow. Thank you for your great recipes.

This sounds so good, but my daughter is allergic to nuts. :( Is there a good substitution for the pecans that would still give us the crunch?
